The Department of Computer Science offers a discipline that focuses on the complete software development process including design, programming and testing.

The University of Dayton was one of the first schools in the country to develop an undergraduate program in Computer Science, in 1961. The department offers a Master degree in Computer Science and two programs leading to the Bachelor of Science degree: Computer Science and Computer Information Systems.

Our students are hired by companies such as Procter & Gamble, AT&T Communications, Compuserve, Dayton Power & Light, Eastman Kodak, General Electric, Mead Corporation, NASA Space Flight Center, NCR, Standard Register, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, LexisNexis, and many others.
