If you can see yourself in one of these roles--as a performer or composer, as a teacher, or even as a music therapist, then the Bachelor of Music program at the University of Dayton can offer you outstanding programs of study in all of these areas.
The Bachelor of Music program (B.M.) is a professional degree program with specific concentrations in music performance and music composition as well as in applied areas such as music education and music therapy. Music performance majors specialize in voice or in their chosen instrument. Music composition majors study all aspects of music as they learn to develop their own, distinctive work. Music education majors focus upon instrumental, vocal, and classroom teaching for K-12. And in the nationally recognized Music therapy program, students learn how to bring music to therapy settings that can aid the mental, physical, and spiritual development of their clients.
An active concert schedule, a university Arts Series which brings all types of music to the campus, and performance opportunities from pep band to opera workshop, classical to jazz and gospel, music theatre to marching band make the Department of Music one of the most vibrant and exciting places on campus. Whether you are looking for a four-year undergraduate degree in music or outstanding preparation for graduate work, the Bachelor of Music options at the University of Dayton will give you the outstanding support and training you are seeking.
