EXPLORE RELIGIOUS STUDIES:

Academic Opportunities

CORE Program
Many religious studies majors are also CORE students. The CORE Program offers an innovative, interdisciplinary curriculum program consisting of a sequence of courses, which fulfill many of the University’s general education requirements. These courses are carefully coordinated with one another so that students experience the integrated character of the liberal arts.  Extra-curricular speakers, arts events, and other activities related to course content are an important part of the program.

Theta Alpha Kappa
The department sponsors its own chapter of the national honor society, Theta Alpha Kappa.

Study Abroad
Religious studies students can take on the challenges of course work in countries around the world. Working with the Office of Study Abroad, students may travel to many locations to complete studies in Paris, Dublin, London, Florence, St. Petersburg, Morocco, and Australia.

Summer Immersion Program
Many Religious studies students also travel as part of the Summer Immersion Program, offered through the Center for Social Concern. Religious studies students have gone to Guatemala, Ecuador, Honduras, India, and Cameroon in the recent past.

Dedicated faculty
One on one interaction with faculty mentors helps to keep religious studies majors focused on their goals.
