Deadline for all application materials to be submitted to the PCL office: January 23, 2009

The Program for Christian Leadership gladly welcomes your application to the Chaminade Scholars Program. We assume that you are familiar with the main elements of the Chaminade Scholar Program. If you are not, please spend some time reading the brochure and looking at this website before you write your application materials. If you have any questions, please visit the Office of the Program for Christian Leadership in HM123 or email at pcl@notes.udayton.edu.

A complete application consists of the following four components:

• A completed and signed Cover Sheet.
• Essay responses to the questions found in the “Application Essay Questions” document. Please number your answers. You do not need to begin your answer to each question on separate pieces of paper. Please use 12-point font and 1-inch margins all around. Be sure that your name appears on your paper.
• A copy of a paper that you wrote for a UD class during the fall semester. This should be a paper that you consider to be your best work.
• A written recommendation from a faculty member who was your professor for a 3-credit-hour course during Fall 2008. The professor you select to write your recommendation must fill out the Recommendation Form. The professor will submit his or her recommendation directly to the Office of the Program for Christian Leadership.

Be sure to make a note of the following requirements:

• Interviews for the Chaminade Scholars Program will be conducted with program faculty and staff on Saturday, February 21, 2009. Be sure to reserve this day in the event that you are selected for an interview.
• If you are selected to be a Chaminade Scholar, we will enroll you in a mini-course, UDI165: Faith, Vocation, & Leadership II. Classes will meet during Winter 2009 from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. on the following Sundays: March 15, March 22, and March 29. The course will explore the topics of prayer, service and evangelization as they relate to one’s vocation.
• If you are selected, you will also be required to attend the Chaminade Scholar Bonding and Formation Retreat from the evening on Friday, March 6, 2009 through early afternoon on Sunday, March 8, 2009.
