College is a time to explore your possibilities. You want to develop a strong major while also developing your unique talents and interests.
The College of Arts and Sciences provides the foundation for full, personal development and the latitude to accommodate career preparation. The curriculum in the College helps students develop habits of clear thinking and critical reasoning, respect needs for the role of each person in society, and appreciation of the aesthetic and spiritual life. College graduates can successfully confront the issues, changes and problems that arise in life.
The College provides you with an academic advisor who will help you make effective use of all of the resources that are available to you. You will complete the Humanities Base in your first year, learning to connect the disciplines of English, history, philosophy, and religious studies as you ask the question; What does it mean to be human? You will be introduced to the University and to the wider Dayton community so that you can take advantage of all of the resources that the University and the city provide.
