The Stander Symposium represents the best of undergraduate academic opportunities at the University of Dayton. An annual event, the symposium is a celebration of academic achievement by undergraduate students from all disciplines on campus. Students work to synthesize and present research they have been working on independently or as part of course work to the campus community as part of the symposium's poster session. 

Students in the Department of Geology have long participated in the poster-session as a capstone in their undergraduate research projects.
