Learn, Lead and Serve Grants These grants enable students to pursue special projects that connect academic education with experiential learning and the exploration of service opportunities. Many students use their grants to supplement research abroad and immersion programs around the world.
Fr. Norbert Burns Scholarship Former students have created an endowed scholarship fund in Father Norbert Burns’ honor to award scholarships primarily to religious studies majors with financial need. Fr. Burns is a professor emeritus in the department and his specialty is Christian marriage.
Awards of Excellence The department gives two awards of excellence each year for outstanding students:
- The William Joseph Chaminade Award of Excellence
- The Monsignor J. Dean McFarland Award of Excellence
Lalanne Program The Lalanne Program is an excellent opportunity for those religious studies students planning to pursue a career teaching in a Catholic school. In a two-year commitment, Lalanne participants teach in a Catholic high school and are provided housing and financial aid for their master’s degree. The program fosters personal, professional, and spiritual development for participants.
